Financial advice has a reputation problem
A lot of it is deserved. People have been sold products they did not understand, by people who did not explain how they were being paid for selling them. So we do three things differently, and none of them are complicated.
We tell you how we are paid
Before you decide anything. In writing, in euro as well as percentages.
We are independent
Not tied to any one life company, so what we recommend is not decided by who we work for.
We will tell you to do nothing
If what you have is fine, that is what the report will say. It costs us a sale and it keeps a client.
What a first meeting is actually like
Half an hour, no charge, nothing to sign, and no product mentioned. Mostly we ask questions and listen. What you have, what worries you, what you want the next stretch of your life to look like.
You leave with a written summary of where you stand. Whether you do anything after that is entirely your call, and plenty of people take it away and think about it for months. That is fine.
We are not accountants and we do not do your tax returns. We are not solicitors and we do not write your will. We work alongside both, and we are happy to sit in a room with yours. If a question belongs with them, we will say so rather than guess at it.
The people you will actually deal with.
You will know all three by name within a month of becoming a client, and you deal with the same adviser every time.
Three steps, and no pressure at any of them
We find out where you stand
Half an hour, no charge. What you have, what your situation looks like, what you want. Mostly us listening and asking questions.
You get it in writing
A written summary of your position and our recommendations, with the reasoning, the charges and the alternatives we considered. Yours to keep either way.
We review it, properly
At least once a year. Circumstances change, rules change, markets change. If nothing needs doing, we will tell you that plainly.
We would rather have this conversation early
Advisers are paid in a few different ways and not everyone explains which. Here is ours.
